Engaged by the CEO of an NSW coal mining company to source several key leadership professionals to support ongoing operations of one active UG mine and restart for another mine sitting in care and maintenance status. Mining activities are executed using contractor and owner teams, via underground board and pillar extraction and processing utilising a conventional CHPP operation on site. The appointments were integral in re-invigorating the company’s strategic direction and were part of a series of management changes made in the leadership group.
The position reported to the Chief Executive Officer and was tasked with oversite and operational management of an underground board and pillar coal mine in NSW. The role was also accountable for leading activities required for restart of another mothballed mining asset in the region. The selected candidate was headhunted from another local NSW operation and appointed based on his prior success managing coal mines in the region at GM & COO level.
The position reported to the Technical Services Manager and was tasked with executing diversified mine engineering activities with heavy focus toward long term strategic mine planning and implementation of newly introduced software – Deswik. The candidate was headhunted from a neighboring coal operation and was chosen due to his leadership experience in mine planning and technical expertise with Deswik.
