About the Company Our client, a Brisbane-based specialist mining consultancy delivering technical advisory services across the resources sector, is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join its growing underground metals team. The business works on technically challenging projects for a diverse client base operating in complex hard rock environments, and is looking for an engineer ready to step into meaningful project work from day one.
Position Overview The Senior Mining Engineer will be a key technical contributor on underground metals mine planning projects, taking ownership of design, scheduling and operational planning deliverables. Based in Brisbane within a tight-knit team of senior and principal engineers, the role involves occasional travel to mine sites and client offices.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver underground mine design, life-of-mine scheduling and backfill system planning for client projects.
- Produce high-quality technical work and reports that clients can act on.
- Contribute to multi-discipline studies from scoping and feasibility through to execution.
- Support business development through technical credibility and client relationships.
- Undertake site visits and client engagement as project needs require.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in the underground metals sector, ideally spanning both planning and operational roles.
- Experience across mine design, production scheduling and backfill planning.
- Proficiency in mine planning software, particularly Deswik.
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own deliverables.
- Strong written and technical communication skills.
- Willingness to travel on occasion.
- Full working rights in Australia.
