Position Overview Our client is an ASX-listed gold developer advancing a major project in Africa. The project is being funded and accelerated by a multi-billion-dollar market-cap strategic partner, with multiple drill rigs currently active on site. Based in the Perth corporate office, the Senior Geologist will work closely with the CEO to provide the technical interface between (i) site-based exploration activities in Africa and (ii) the strategic partner and the company’s executive team.
Key Responsibilities - Act as the primary technical interface between the African exploration team, the strategic partner and the Perth executive team, ensuring timely, accurate information flow and decision support.
- Review and validate geological models, wireframes and targeting; coordinate external consultants (database, geophysics, resource geology, as required).
- Own exploration data governance including assay QA/QC, database integrity, chain of custody and audit trails.
- Prepare high-quality technical materials: exploration updates and investor-ready maps, sections and commentary.
- Lead JORC Code Table 1 compilation and sign-off processes (as Competent Person if qualified/eligible), ensuring alignment with ASX Listing Rules (incl. Continuous Disclosure) for Exploration Results.
- Draft and review ASX releases, presentations and technical disclosures, ensuring clarity, accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to budget planning, schedules, contractor management and cost tracking tied to exploration workstreams.
Qualifications & Experience - BSc (Hons) or MSc in Geology/Geoscience (or equivalent).
- 8–15+ years’ experience in gold exploration.
- Proven record delivering gold exploration programs from targeting through discovery/appraisal, with strong technical understanding.
- Competence in JORC reporting, ASX disclosure requirements and Table 1; ability to act as Competent Person or clear pathway to eligibility.
- Proficiency with geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Seequent, Micromine/Datamine, acQuire/Imago) and GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of translating field results into succinct, decision-ready corporate updates.
- Technically rigorous, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
- Collaborative, low-ego communicator with strong influencing skills.
- Able to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels in a fast-moving environment.
Location & Travel - Perth corporate office based role with ad-hoc travel to the African project site as required.
