The Company Our client, an ASX-listed gold exploration company, is currently seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to join their growing team. The company is focused on advancing its flagship gold project in Queensland, which hosts an established JORC-compliant resource and is considered one of the most promising gold expansion opportunities on Australia’s east coast. With high geological conviction and significant upside potential, the project is well-positioned to become a prominent new gold development in the region.
About the Role The position will play a pivotal role in leading field-based exploration activities, managing an established team and contributing to the strategic direction of the company’s flagship project as well as other assets within the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and execute field exploration programs, including geological mapping, surface sampling and drill campaigns.
- Plan, manage and oversee exploration activities, ensuring adherence to best-practice geological, environmental and safety standards.
- Analyse geological data to refine existing targets and guide future resource expansion strategies.
- Manage company staff as well as third-party contractors and consultants, ensuring efficient, cost-effective and timely delivery of exploration outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and government regulatory frameworks across all exploration activities.
Skills & Experience - Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years of mineral exploration experience, preferably with gold projects in QLD or similar geological terrains.
- Demonstrated experience in managing drill programs and field-based exploration in remote or regional areas.
- Strong skills in geological interpretation and the ability to integrate datasets to define and advance mineralised systems.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geological software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, QGIS, or similar.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic exploration setting.
- A results-driven and hands-on approach with a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
