President / CEO - Gold (Canada)

Position Overview
Seeking expressions of interest for a President/CEO position with a Canada-based, gold-focused mineral exploration company. The mandate is to build the company from the ground up, set a strategy, raise capital and lead the growth and development of a high-conviction gold project portfolio. We are targeting an entrepreneurial, collaborative leader who can shape a disciplined project pipeline, drive financing efforts and deliver clear market communication and governance. First-time CEO candidates with meaningful executive exposure (e.g., VP/GM or 2IC to a CEO) are encouraged to apply. Bringing project acquisition ideas is strongly regarded.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the company’s strategy and value-creation plan across Canadian gold exploration.
  • Oversee exploration programs and project development with NI 43-101 compliance, budget discipline and milestone delivery.
  • Originate, evaluate and negotiate acquisitions/option-deals/JVs; maintain an active deal pipeline, including self-sourced opportunities.
  • Recruit & coordinate a lean, high-output team and specialist consultants, fostering a collaborative, performance culture.
  • Engage constructively with Indigenous partners, communities, regulators and JV/industry counterparts.
  • Report to the Board with transparent governance, cash management, risk oversight and clear KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Substantial mining/exploration experience (gold preferred) with a strong grasp of the Canadian exploration ecosystem (permitting, logistics/seasonality, services).
  • Understanding and experience with capital raising processes and investor engagements across institutional and retail channels.
  • Track record of exploration leadership and/or project development, with understanding of NI 43-101 and HSEC best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial builder with a collaborative leadership style and comfort operating in lean teams.
  • Open to first-time CEOs; prior executive role or 2IC experience advantageous.
  • Canadian residency or work eligibility; willingness to travel as required.
