Overview Our client, an ASX-listed WA gold and base metals explorer is currently searching for a Managing Director. The role will oversee all aspects of corporate management, exploration strategy, capital markets engagement and business development, with a focus on advancing high-potential exploration assets into defined resources and value creation for shareholders.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute the company’s WA gold and base metals exploration and growth strategy.
- Drive technical excellence across exploration, resource definition and project evaluation programs.
- Oversee financial management, reporting and cost control across all projects.
- Lead engagement with investors, analysts, brokers and strategic partners to strengthen market presence and access to capital.
- Prepare and deliver corporate presentations, ASX announcements and investor updates.
- Identify and assess opportunities for M&A, joint ventures or asset-level transactions that support long-term growth.
- Lead due diligence, commercial negotiation and deal execution processes.
- Work with the Board to evaluate and implement financing strategies, including equity raisings, offtake partnerships, and project-level funding.
Qualifications & Experience - Tertiary qualification in a Technical, Engineering, Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the mining and exploration industry, including at least 5 years in executive or corporate leadership roles.
- Proven leadership experience in ASX-listed pre-development exploration companies, ideally within gold and base metals.
- Demonstrated success leading exploration strategy, discovery advancement and capital market engagement.
- Understanding of JORC, ASX reporting standard and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical, financial and investor audiences.
