Iron Cove Global is currently supporting a well-funded, publicly listed copper-gold explorer with the appointment of a
Head of Exploration to lead exploration across its portfolio of projects in Latin America.
The Role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will own exploration strategy and execution across the company’s Latin American copper-gold portfolio:
- Setting and executing the exploration strategy, from district-scale target generation through to drill prioritisation and resource definition
- Direct, hands-on interrogation of all exploration datasets — geochemistry, geophysics, structural and drilling
- Design and delivery of drill programmes, including QA/QC, data management, safety performance and delivery against planned metres
- Leadership of in-country geological teams, field contractors and external consultants, with accountability for building and retaining the technical team
- Exploration budgeting, permitting and community engagement oversight, and cost-per-metre discipline
- Board and investor reporting, including technical presentation material, NI 43-101 / JORC compliance and exploration results releases
- Technical lead on project generation, due diligence and M&A opportunities across the region
The Criteria - Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline;
- 10+ years in mineral exploration, with genuine depth in porphyry and epithermal copper-gold systems
- Demonstrated ownership of exploration strategy, target generation and drill programme design across multiple projects
- Track record leading and building geological teams in remote, high-altitude, high-tempo environments
- Working knowledge of Latin American permitting, tenure and community and environmental frameworks
- Personal, working fluency in QGIS and either Leapfrog or Micromine
- Board and investor-facing communication skills, with experience as a Qualified/Competent Person
- Professional working fluency in Spanish
