Overview:
Our client, a publicly listed exploration company, is currently searching for an Exploration Manager to lead the advancement of their uranium project in Africa. As the Exploration Manager, you will be responsible for the project's overall leadership and site management. This role requires frequent on-site presence to oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring efficient, safe, and effective exploration activities. Your expertise in geological exploration, project management, and team leadership will be pivotal in driving the project's success.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed exploration plans and programs.

  • Oversee and manage all on-site exploration activities, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, drilling, and geophysical surveys.

  • Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship.

  • Conduct detailed geological interpretations and resource estimations using advanced software and modelling tools to support project development.

  • Compile, analyse, and interpret geological data to generate high-quality technical reports, presentations, and exploration updates for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices, promoting a culture of safety and sustainability on-site.

  • Manage relationships with external consultants, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of exploration services and equipment.

  • Collaborate with executive management to develop and manage exploration budgets, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets.

  • Engage with local communities, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to build positive relationships and promote project transparency and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Geoscience discipline.

  • Prior experience working in Africa or other remote locations outside of home country origin.

  • Proven track record in planning, executing, and managing exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and geophysical surveys.

  • Strong proficiency in geological software and modelling tools (e.g., MapInfo, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Micromine, etc.).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and timelines, while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Fluency in French is advantageous but not required.

Location:
This position requires travel to and extended stays at the project site in Africa. The successful candidate must be willing to work on a rotational basis.
