Role Overview: We are seeking expressions of interest for the position of Technical Manager – Processing, with an ASX-Listed critical minerals company currently embarking on the development and construction of a new metals production facility in East Coast Australia. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in diverse and complex mineral processing and extraction methodologies, with a strong background in pyrometallurgy (exp. with hydrometallurgy advantageous).
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement the technical strategy for the production plant, ensuring alignment with company goals, industry best practices, and innovation in mineral processing technologies;
- Oversee the optimization and improvement of mineral extraction processes, leveraging expertise in pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy to enhance efficiency and maximize output;
- Lead research initiatives and innovation projects to explore possible new extraction methods, technologies, and sustainable practices in critical mineral processing;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the technical team;
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, industry experts, and regulatory bodies to drive technological advancements and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field (Master’s or PhD Advantageous)
- Extensive experience in a leadership role within the mining or minerals industry, with a strong focus on diverse mineral processing and extraction methods, including significant expertise in both pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful technical strategies, optimizing mineral processing operations, and driving innovation in mineral extraction.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in mineral processing and extraction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
